Douglas Smith, Jr., 69, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 in Ft. Wayne, IN.
Douglas was born on March 30, 1945 in Clarksville, TN to the late Douglas Smith, Sr. and Dorothy Mae Gilmer Smith.
He is also preceded in death by four brothers, James Dowlen, Robert E. Smith, Sr., Vernon Mallory, and Frank Mallory and one sister, Georgia Smith.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Frank Hargrow officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the church.
Douglas was a retired truck driver for State Industries Trucking and member of Greenhill Baptist Church.
Douglas is survived by two sons, Robert DeWayne (Mary) Smith and Charles Edward (Alice) Smith of Clarksville, TN; daughter, Melissa (Fredrick) Gatewood of Clarksville, TN; brother, Hugh Price of Clarksville, TN; sister, Carolyn Young of Clarksville, TN; devoted friend, Jo Frances Bagby; seventeen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
