Douglas Eugene Mills, age 77 of Clarksville, entered eternity Friday, April 18, 2014.
He was born April 6, 1937 in Panola County, MS to the late Noel Douglas and Mary Fisher Mills. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Donald Wayne Mills.
Mr. Mills was an Air Force Veteran and a graduate of Memphis State University. He moved to Clarksville in 1980, where he was a realtor and the owner of two Taco John’s restaurants until his retirement in 2000. He was a member of First Baptist Church and considered his precious brothers and sisters in Christ a treasure.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22 at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Dr. Roger Freeman and Dr. Larry Riley officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, April 21 and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday, April 22 at the funeral home.
A Graveside Service will be officiated by Dr. Roger Freeman at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23 at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church Cemetery in Batesville, MS.
Family members will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are the members of Ray Stone’s Sunday School Class.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Anthony Mills; son, Jeffrey O. (Jill) Mills; granddaughters, Kaitlyn N. (Alan) Varney, and Karsen E. Mills, all of Granville, OH; daughter, Debra L. (Jason) Gibbons and grandson, Cody D. Gibbons of Clarksville; great-grandson, Jack C. Varney; two brothers, James D. (Shirley) Mills of Courtland, MS, and Samuel R. (Pam) Mills of Oxford, MS; a sister, G. Sue Mills of Batesville, MS; sister-in-law Ann Mills of Pope, MS and numerous cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews he held dear.
Words cannot express how deeply he will be missed.
