Dorothy Lee Murphy, 94, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Spring Meadows Healthcare.
Dorothy was born on August 21, 1920 in Ashland City, TN to the late Charlie Lee Shearon and Lela Stack Shearon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Perry Murphy; brother, Bryant Shearon; and three sisters, Lucille Powers, Nancy Wade, and Ruby Bumpus.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Shawn Barry officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the funeral home.
Dorothy was a buyer for Belk. She was also a charter member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Donna Chester (Danny) and Sharon Baggett (David) of Clarksville, TN; sister, Jean Roger of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Marc Harris, Traci Koon (Charlie), and Michael Baggett (Rebecca); step-granddaughter, Stephanie Conaster (Chris); five great grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Baggett, Danny Chester, Michael Baggett, Marc Harris, Charlie Koon, and Lonnie Perigo.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of AseraCare Hospice and especially Tammy Coffman.
