Dorothy (Dot) Vernon Latham Joiner, age 89, of Clarksville, TN, passed away June 28, 2024.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home in Clarksville, with Rev. Cal Hampton and Pat Van Dyke officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 11:00 AM until the hour of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery in Trenton, KY.

Dot was born on March 26, 1935, in Trenton, KY to the late Granville Walton and Inez Camp Latham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Joiner, her son Mchael David Joiner, and her sister, Jane Graham Latham Noel.

Dot grew up on a farm in Trenton, KY, where she graduated from Trenton High School in 1952. She attended Austin Peay State University, receiving a B.S. degree in Business Administration in 1955, and her master’s degree in business education in 1974. While attending Austin Peay, she was one of the APSU Governettes. She was a member of Clarksville-Montgomery County Retired Teachers Association.

On December 18, 1955, she married her childhood sweetheart, M. Boyd Joiner. They enjoyed traveling and camping with the Nashville Music City Airstream Club and the Clarksville Warriota Wanders Camping Club.

She was a retired educator with 39 years of service with Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools, serving 12 years as a bookkeeper in the Director of Schools office and 27 years as a Vocational Business teacher at Clarksville High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church for over 60 years.

Dot is survived by her loving family, which includes her son, Steven B. (Beverly) Joiner, of Mount Juliet, TN, Joan Joiner, Daughter-in-law of Madisonville, KY, four grandchildren, Brittany (Matt) Taylor of Murfreesboro, TN, Justin Joiner of Louisville, KY, Christi (David) Allen of Madisonville, KY, and Cody Joiner of Nashville, TN. She also leaves four great-grandchildren, Elijah and Levi Taylor, and Emily and Logan Allen.

Pallbearers will be Cody Joiner, Justin Joiner, Boel Noel, Matt Taylor, David Allen, Cale Joiner, Doug Noel (honorary), and Andy Joiner (honorary).

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for memorials honoring her life be made to First Baptist Church – Endowment Fund, 435 Madison St., Clarksville, TN 37040.
