After a “master class” win over Lipscomb to a packed crowd at F&M Bank Arena this week, the Govs are now solidly in first place in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

Up next: The Govs face one of their biggest rivals, the North Alabama Lions, in what’s should be another blazing-hot match, Saturday, Feb. 7, on Gary Mathews Court.

With that 87-76 victory against Lipscomb on Wednesday, APSU is now 16-6 (10-1 ASUN). The Lions, meanwhile, are buried at the bottom of the ASUN standings (2-8), but don’t let that fool you. This is a team that always gets motivated to play the Govs, and they did chalk up a conference win last weekend against Stetson. Since the Govs are battling to remain at the top, the Lions would love nothing more than to play spoiler. If APSU beats North Alabama on Saturday, they’ll end this week 17-6, 11-1 in conference play.
