Donna Louise Koester Davis, age 82, of Clarksville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, February 4, 2016, at her home, with her loving family by her side.
Donna was born August 23, 1933, in Flat River, MO. She was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Janis; her father, Howard Koester; and her sister, Frances Patt.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, William. On the journey of life for 56 years in marriage, they had a daughter, Tracey Lynne Davis (Rick Hurd) of Pleasant View, TN. Donna is also survived by her brother, Leman Janis of Hot Springs, AR; and her extended family of nieces, Jo Ellen (Danny) Potts of Fulton, KY, Debbie Fite of Clarksville, TN, Lisa (Wyndle) Bates of Blue Ridge, GA. Two of her nieces came to reside with the existing family at a young age, and she gave them motherly love, guidance, and help until they were grown.
Donna wishes to give her heartfelt thanks to Wanda Sue Gattis, her sister-in-law, for all the help and support she gave during a long illness. Mrs. Davis has many nieces and nephews; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
She graduated from Flat River High School, in Missouri, and attended two years of college in Iowa. She was a member of First Assembly of God and sang in the choir, when she was able to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Assembly of God W.M.’s, 1186 Ft. Campbell Boulevard, Clarksville, TN 37042.
Funeral service will be held Monday, February 8, at 1:30 PM, at First Assembly of God, with Rev. Louie Montoya and Rev. Danny Potts officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 7, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, and Monday, February 8, from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service, at the church.
Pallbearers will be Leo Lucas, Estaban Ramos, David Purdue, Ray Reed, Jerry Vicars, and Danny Fuson.
