CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Antonio Murgas had a bigger vision when he decided to open his fifth Domino’s Pizza location. The local entrepreneur not only wanted to have a grand opening with a great deal for his newest location, 1206 Highway 48, but he wanted to give back to the community that this location would serve.
On June 1, Murgas donated 100 percent of the store’s profits to the Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department. On that day, the new location took in $8,397 which all went to the local fire department.
“I just want to say thanks for all the people from all over Clarksville that came out and supported the Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department. We were fully prepared for a big turnout, but we just got overwhelmed with the business. I want to apologize for the wait times that evening. The idea of 100 percent of sales comes from the fact that we want the community to know that we are a local business too,” Murgas said. “We want to impact a nonprofit that is doing their work within the store’s new delivery area. I wanted to partner with the volunteer fire department to let them know how much they are appreciated for their commitment and hard work they do for our community.”
The Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1983 for fire protection in the Cunningham, TN area. Currently, there are 50 members of the department. Under the leadership of Dawson Swift, Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department responds to fires, motor vehicle accidents with injuries, hazardous material scenes, emergency medical calls, fire alarms and carbon monoxide alarms. They are supported by the community through donations and fundraisers.
“I would like to thank Antonio Murgas and his Domino’s team for their generosity to Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department. The proceeds raised will go a long way towards maintaining and growing our fire department so that we can continue to provide the level of fire protection and emergency services our growing community deserves. We wish Antonio and Domino’s great success with their new location on Hwy 48 and appreciate their support of the community,” Swift said.
