CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A man was arrested for aggravated assault following a brawl that ended with gunshots Sunday, Dec. 29.

According to a report from the Clarksville Police Department (CPD), the victim contacted Donald Lehman via Facebook to collect personal items belonging to his girlfriend. Lehman had previously dated the woman, and agreed to let the victim pick up the belongings in person “if he was man enough”.

When the victim arrived at the home on Teakwood Drive, Lehman, his mother, and step-brother confronted the victim while he was in his van on the street. An argument began, which resulted in a physical fight. The victim got back into his vehicle to drive away, and Lehman fired a pistol five to six times at the vehicle. Lehman told police the man had assaulted his mother, and he was afraid he would back the vehicle into her. He said his intention was to disable the vehicle. The victim said he intended to drive away because he feared for his life.

Two bullets hit the rear bumper, and the left front and rear tires were flattened by the shots.

Lehman was arrested for aggravated assault with a $5,000 bond.
