CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Local Doctor Who fans are invited to a unique convention this weekend in Clarksville.

Con-GT bills itself as the only Doctor Who exclusive convention in the Nashville-Middle Tennessee area.

The festivities will be held March 13-15 at the Riverview Inn, 50 College Street.

Special guests include Ellis George, who plays Courtney in Series 8; author, script editor for Doctor Who, and lecturer Andrew Cartmel; Robin Burks, author of Zeus Inc. and The Curse of Hekate; and of course the TARDIS.

Legs Nose Robinson, a band that writes and records songs exclusively about Doctor Who, will rock the house Saturday night with a performance during ‘The Doctor Dances’ event.

Fans can show off their creativity and enter to win cash prizes during the Cosplay contest, which features a variety of categories, including Best Doctor, Best Modern Era Doctor, Best Companion, Best Non-Doctor/Non-Companion, Best Overall, and more.

Eddie Owen, organizer of the convention, says visitors will be “one degree of separation” from the people who make Doctor Who happen.

“It’s about meeting people who have a common interest and getting to hang out with them,” he said. “If you’re a big fan of the show, you would be one degree of separation from the stars, from the writers, the producers.”

Owen hopes fans use this weekend as an opportunity to make connections with others and learn more about the show that has brought them together.

“It’s three days of people having fun, meeting some celebrities, dressing up, and learning as we talk a lot about the show,” he said.

Tickets are on sale and can be purchased here.
