CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Arnold Hodges, District 6 county commissioner, passed away early Sunday at the age of 69 following a long battle with leukemia.

“We lost an awfully good county commissioner,” Mayor Jim Durrett told Clarksville Now. “It’s a sad day in Montgomery County.”

A lifetime resident of the Cunningham area, Hodges served 35 years as a forest technician for the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. He was first elected to serve District 6 in 2014.

Hodges was a member of Central Civitan Club, McAlister’s Lodge and the Montgomery County Cattleman’s Association, according to Leaf Chronicle archives.

A funeral service for Hodges has not yet been announced.
