CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Police arrested a man last month who walked into his former place of employment holding gas cans and threatened to burn it down.
On June 20, at approximately 8:50 p.m., CPD officers responded to a “threat call for service” at Hydro Design, 1415 Corporate Parkway Boulevard, and made contact with one of the four victims. According to the affidavit of complaint, the victim advised that a white male wearing a white tank top, cargo shorts and black shoes walked into the business holding two red gas cans.
The man then told all four victims, “Give me my money or I will burn this place to the ground,” according to the complaint.
The victims were “immediately in fear of harm” and believed that the man poured fuel from the gas cans as he was leaving Hydro Design. According to the affidavit, police were able to recover the gas canisters from the business and that they were filled with gasoline.
Police were able to find the man, who matched the description at Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and Holiday Drive, which was in the area of direction the suspect was known to be travelling after leaving Hydro Design.
One of the victims was able to identify the man as the defendant in a show up. Police were able to confirm from the business and victim that the man was a “disgruntled, ex-employee.”
According to the affidavit, without prompting from police, the man spoke of Hydro Design and said that “he owns the place.”
