CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – On Tuesday July 25, in a formal session, the Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board held the director of school’s annual evaluation.

Luna-Vedder has been a resident of Montgomery County since 2007 and has served as a CMCSS teacher, assistant principal, principal and director of high schools. She became director of schools in July last year.

The board also voted on two policies, executive limitations six and seven.

Executive limitation six involves asset protection. It states, “The director of schools shall not allow assets of the district to be inadequately maintained, inappropriately used, or unnecessarily risked” in and outside of budget limits. The board passed the vote, 7-0.

Executive limitation seven regards an emergency director of schools. It states, “The director of schools may have no fewer than two other executives familiar with board and director of schools issues and processes” so that if there is a sudden loss of the director of schools, someone will be able to step in. The vote passed 7-0.

New CTE programs

The session concluded with a board report for Goal 3. Goal 3 creates opportunities for students to explore post-secondary pathways through CMCSS instruction.

This 2023-24 school year, CMCSS is adding new programs to their career and technical education (CTE) experience.

Kenwood High will be adding barbering to their CTE programs, while Rossview and West Creek High will be adding a highly anticipated aviation program.

Kirkwood will be adding supply chain management and educational therapy and support.
