CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – An overnight wreck on Highway 149 sent one deputy to the hospital.
At about 2:40 a.m. Sunday, after a previous incident, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies were directing traffic while Tennessee Department of Transportation workers cleared debris from the road, according to MCSO spokesperson Sandra Brandon.
A motorist going west in a Toyota Avalon swerved to the left and hit an unoccupied TDOT truck and a deputy who was outside his vehicle, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol wreck report.
The deputy was transported to Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville by ambulance with non-lifethreatening injuries.
Tennessee Highway Patrol took the 21-year-old driver into custody on suspicion of DUI. He was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, vehicular assault, registration improper displayed and no insurance.
