CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Deputy Bubba Johnson Memorial Road Race is returning for its 10th year on the evening of Aug. 17th, at Rossview High School located at 1237 Rossview Rd. This year’s community event will feature a 5K race, 1 Mile Fun Run, Cornhole Tournament, Food Truck, and more.

The Cornhole Tournament will begin at 5:00PM, so participants should arrive around 4:30PM to check-in. There is a $40 entry fee per team, which includes an event t-shirt (if registered before July 27th). Prizes will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place teams.

The 1 Mile Fun Run will begin at 7:30PM, while the 5K will begin at 8:00PM, so participants should arrive prior to 7:00PM to ensure road closures have not begun. The 1 Mile Fun Run entry fee is $10 and does not include a race shirt or Finishers Medal. The 5K entry fee is $40 and includes both the race shirt and Finishers Medal for the first 250 entrants to finish.

While there is no official category this year for our four-legged friends, all well-behaved dogs are welcome to bring along their registered human runners and run alongside them. Fryz Wit Dat food truck will also be on-site.

T-shirts for this year’s race will be available for purchase on the event registration website for $15. A Limited Edition Memorial T-shirt will also be available for purchase on the event registration website for $25. Limited quantities may be available on race night as well. As this year marks the 10th anniversary of Deputy Bubba Johnson’s death, these shirts will not only serve as a reminder of the man Bubba was, but also as a reminder to Honor the Fallen officers of the past as well as those in the present and future.

Online Registration cut-off is midnight on August 14th and there is no Race Day Registration this year.

The 5K race is held annually in memory of Deputy Bubba Johnson, who lost his life in a motor vehicle accident on Jan. 12, 2014, while on duty with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Bubba had also served with the Montgomery County Emergency Medical Service and Clarksville Police Department. Proceeds from the event directly benefit the spouses and families of Tennessee Law Enforcement Officers who are killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.
