CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A group of demonstrators gathered in front of the Montgomery County Courthouse and Court Complex  on Tuesday afternoon, joining the many peaceful demonstrations nationwide in response to the killing of George Floyd.

Floyd, 46, died while in police custody in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 25, 2020. A video showed a police officer kneeling with his knee on his neck for several minutes before Floyd died. His death sparked outrage worldwide and has led to numerous protests in cities all over America.

“No Justice, No Peace!,” “Black Lives Matter,” and “Enough is Enough!” was chanted by the diverse crowd many carrying signs.

Another protest is schedule Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fortera Stadium.
