CLARKSVILLE TN (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. recently presented West Creek High School’s Jamiya Smith with the Wilma Rudolph “Skeeter” Scholarship.
The honor is awarded annually to two Black collegiate athletes. According to a release, the $750 scholarship assists in the retention of African American female students and aids them in completing their academic careers.
Smith plans to attend Austin Peay State University in the fall, where she will play volleyball and major in chemistry.
