Delores Jean Bertrand, 84, passed away of natural causes at her daughter’s home in Paia, Maui Hawaii on November 18, 2021. Delores was born in Topeka, Kansas on December 8, 1938.

She was preceded in death by her Husband Joseph Dwight Bertrand who passed away just 19 days earlier of natural causes on October 30, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her parents Bernard Andrew Spetter and Clara Josephine Schneider.

She is survived by Sister Linda Pusch of Lecompton, Kansas; Brother Jim Spetter of Berryton, Kansas; Daughter Cheryl A. (Keone) Kali of Paia, Hawaii, Son Joseph T. (Lucia) Bertrand of Dyer, Indiana; Grandson Timothy J. Booth of Paia, Hawaii, Granddaughter Madalyne F. (Jacob Evans) Booth of Austin, Texas, Grandson Cody J. Bertrand of Dyer, Indiana; and Great Granddaughter Gypsy Pilina’epakamakani Ann Marie Evans of Austin, Texas.

Delores met her Husband Joe while he was stationed in Topeka, Kansas in the U.S. Air Force. They were married in 1961 and moved to Lansing, Illinois. Delores worked as a Beautician and in 1996 she and Joe retired and moved to Bumpus Mills, Tennessee. Delores loved her home on Lake Barkley, it was her paradise and the only place she wanted to be. She also loved spending time with her Loon Bay Community and her Saint Francis of Assisi Church Community in Dover.

Delores was passionate about her flowers and took great pride in her home and landscapes. Making sure her family knew they were loved was important to her. She loved to crochet and made unique crocheted afghans for each member of her family that they will always treasure.

On December 18, 2021, a funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am and Luncheon at 12:00pm at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1489 Donelson Pkwy, Dover, Tennessee with Father Joseph Mundakal officiating. Delores’s ashes will be laid to rest with her husbands at Fowler Cemetery, 465 W Division Road, Fowler, Benton County, Indiana.
