CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Customs House Museum & Cultural Center would like to announce the upcoming events and updates:

Dec. 2 – Homeschool Field Trip Day: The museum will host Homeschool Field Trip Day from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students in grades K-12 and their families can participate in self-guided learning throughout the museum. Admission is $3 per student and $5 per adult for non-member homeschool families. For more information, contact Curator of Education Stephanie Stafford at stephanie@customshousemuseum.org.

Dec. 4 – “Historic Clarksville” Book Launch: A book launch for Historic Clarksville will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. during Noel Night and First Thursday Art Walk. The third edition of the deluxe, hardbound book by Clarksville journalist Jimmy Settle highlights the city’s 240-year history with hundreds of photographs and illustrations, including a new chapter covering 2004–2024.

Dec. 4 – First Thursday Art Walk & Noel Night: From 5 to 8 p.m., the public is invited to enjoy holiday festivities at The Museum Store during First Thursday Art Walk. The event includes hot chocolate, snacks, holiday gifts for purchase, and decorated Christmas trees. Families are also welcome to see the F&M Bank Huff & Puff Model Trains Christmas Express.

Dec. 4 – Storytime & Craft: National Sock Day: Storytime & Craft will be held at 10:30 a.m. for all ages with an adult. The session will feature books about socks and a sock puppet craft. Free with membership or paid admission. Parents are expected to participate and supervise their children.

Dec. 7 – Sundays at 3: Tennessee’s Textile Mill Girls: Amanda McCrary Smith, doctoral candidate and historic preservationist with MTSU’s Center for Historic Preservation, will present “Tennessee’s Textile Mill Girls: From the Labor Movement to the War Years” at 3 p.m. in Turner Auditorium. The talk is free to the public; museum admission is not included.

Dec. 11 – History on the Rocks at Beachaven Downtown: History on the Rocks will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Beachaven Downtown on Franklin Street, featuring writers and artists from the winter issue of Second & Commerce. The magazine highlights art, history and culture in Clarksville-Montgomery County. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Dec. 13 – The Snowflake Special Experience: The Snowflake Special Experience begins at 10:30 a.m. for ages 3–12 with an adult. The event includes model train viewing, holiday stories, collaborative train-city building, a take-home craft and a keepsake for each ticketed child. Santa is expected to make an appearance for photos. Tickets are $5 for members and $8 for non-members.

Dec. 18 – Storytime & Craft: Time to Bake the Cookies: Storytime & Craft will take place at 10:30 a.m. with stories about cookies and a cookie sheet craft. Free with membership or paid admission. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

Dec. 21 – Super Sunday Studio: A holiday ornament workshop with McLean Fahnestock and Sarah Spillers will be held at 2 p.m. for ages 16 and older. Participants will create and paint ornaments during this free public program. Museum admission is not included.

Dec. 27 – Family Art Saturday: Winter Process Art: Family Art Saturday will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. The session features winter-themed process art suitable for all ages. Free with membership or paid admission. Adults must participate with and supervise their children.
