CLARKSVILLE, Tenn – (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville, TN – On May 12 Tanya McCain’s life changed, along with the other 125 graduates from Daymar College in Clarksville during ceremonies held at the James Bruce Convention Center.
Tanya enrolled at Daymar two years ago to complete her Network Support Administration – Engineering degree. Tanya also completed her internship at Tennessee State as part of the requirement to obtain a degree at Daymar. She has already been hired part-time at Workforce Opportunity Services at the State of Tennessee and will start work full time in June for Bank of New York Mellon as an Information Technology Specialist.
As a Sergeant currently serving in the Army Reserves, Tanya was looking for flexibility from a nationally accredited college leading to a career she could be passionate about.
“I have always loved the working with computers and technology. Daymar’s Network Support Administration program met my needs. Daymar helped me find a meaningful internship that has led to a full time job coming out of graduation,” Tanya said. “The best part about Daymar is that they really care about me and have provided the super-qualified instructors and the hands-on practical education leading me to my degree and a job that I know I’ll love for a long time.”
Tanya is filling one of the 627,000 unfilled tech jobs in the US, according to a recent USA Today article, and the need for technology workers is growing by two percent a year.
