CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Daycon Clarksville will host its fifth annual anime convention at the Riverview Inn in downtown Clarksville Sept. 19 and 20.
The convention will run from 12:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. on Friday, and 10:00 a.m. – 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is $10 for one day, or $20 for both, and can be purchased at the door (cash or check only).
Daycon Clarkville was designed to be a safe and fun event for individuals who share an enthusiasm for anime, video games, and Japanese pop culture. The convention will include a variety of panels, a game room, vendors, artists, costume contest, Ramune [soda] Drinking Tournament, and much more.
The special guest this year will be Jennifer Cihi, (the singing voice of Sailor Moon), who will be performing, answering questions, and signing autographs. There will also be a live performance by Dr3amland, para para dance lessons with para2mahou, and a shotokan class with Okawa Baize Karate.
One of the other main goals at Daycon Clarksville is to raise much-needed funding for the Cats Are Us (And Dogs Too) animal shelter. Every year a portion of Daycon’s ticket sales are donated to the shelter. In addition, the Cats Are Us Charity Raffle gives the convention attendees a chance to win prizes, with all money from the raffle directly donated to the shelter.
