CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Mid Cumberland Child Care Resource and Referral Agency is putting on a Day of Play on April 3 at the Wilma Rudolph Center from 1 to 4 p.m.
Year after year, the Wilma Rudolph Center has transformed into a hands-on immersive play experience for children. Once the doors opened, children would look on with bewilderment at the creative play areas. This bewilderment would then be followed by sounds joy and laughter as the children played.
Day of Play is the brainchild of Early Childhood Education professionals from the Montgomery County community joining forces to create an experience.
The concept is simple: Provide a large play space for families and children to play together. The areas of play have included: Construction Zone, Tummy Time area, Art, Story Time, Pretend Play, Music, Science and more.
This year, the concept has shifted from an indoor event to an outdoor nature-themed event. Each play area will be on the outside of the Wilma Rudolph Center with Family Community Resources available inside of the building.
The planning team has worked hard to make this a family-friendly and safe event. Masks will be available for those who would like one. There will be sanitizer and wipes in each play area. Each family in attendance will receive a bag full of resources and a book for each of their children. There will be characters to take pictures with, and Kona Ice food truck will be in attendance.
