CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Republican David Shively has announced his candidacy for Montgomery County commissioner in District 11.
A father of three – one son and two daughters – Shively said his family is the driving force behind his campaign. Shively has volunteered with local nonprofits, participated in community cleanups, and actively engaged with residents about neighborhood concerns.
“I’m running as a Republican because I believe in responsible government, fiscal discipline and protecting the safety and future of our families,” Shively said. “Our county is growing quickly, and we need leadership that listens to citizens and makes thoughtful decisions.”
He said his priorities include strengthening local infrastructure, supporting small businesses, investing in law enforcement and emergency services, and promoting policies that protect natural resources while encouraging responsible growth.
