CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A deputy with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a lot of attention after a video of him dancing during the F.U.E.L. Block Party went viral last week.
Deputy Kelley Potter told WKRN News 2 that dancing with the kids was about showing them how officers and deputies are interested in making a difference in the community.
“Right now, a lot of kids need role models. A lot of them are in single parent homes. It’s good to show them that we’re out there, not only to protect them, but also to have fun with them and mingle with them. That way when they’re growing up they’re going to have someone to talk to or someone to call that needs help,” Potter said.
Potter is set to be at a Foster Care Awareness event Saturday from 12-4 p.m. at the LEAP organization, 1860 Wilma Rudolph Blvd.
