CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Cydney Daane, a Navy and Army veteran, has announced her candidacy to represent District 19 on the Montgomery County Commission.

Daane, a Republican, is a wife, mother and 15-year resident of Montgomery County who has dedicated her life to service through military leadership, community advocacy and nonprofit involvement. Since September 2024, she said, she has regularly attended County Commission meetings to better understand the role, the process, and the issues facing the community.

As a veteran of both the Navy and Army, Daane said she brings discipline, accountability and a strong work ethic to everything she does.

If elected, Daane said, she will focus on strengthening public safety and modernizing infrastructure for long-term growth, supporting the Montgomery County Fire Department to improve response times and emergency outcomes, and advancing the T.RAD project that will bring significant economic benefits to the community by creating approximately 900 jobs. Daane is also committed to supporting the agricultural community. She said she believes county leaders must listen to and advocate for those who work the land while protecting property rights and promoting responsible growth.

In addition to her military service, Daane serves as an advocate and donor for local and statewide nonprofit organizations and sits on the Board of Directors for Helping Hands Worldwide Inc. “I am running to serve with integrity, discipline and dedication,” Daane said. “Our community deserves leadership that is informed, engaged, and willing to do the work.”
