Explorers Landing at the Customs House Museum has helped to entertain and educate children and adults for more than 25 years.
CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Customs House Museum & Cultural Center held a ribbon cutting Friday for the newly renovated Explorer’s Landing Children’s Area at the museum. Close to 100 community leaders and museum supporters attended the event.
The new and improved hands-on educational exhibit is titled Exploring Our Town: An Adventure For All Ages. Frank Lott, executive director of Customs House Museum, shared his excitement with those gathered about the exhibit.

“No matter how long one has lived here, or how old or young one might be. All will rediscover Clarksville in a way that will entertain, fascinate, educate, and even inspire, a greater appreciation for this marvelous community we call home,” Lott said.
There were actually two ribbon cuttings, one each at the downstairs and upstairs entrances to Explorer’s Landing, which has been a popular feature of the museum for more than 25 years.
