CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Customs House Museum is offering artists in Tennessee and Kentucky an opportunity to exhibit in the Planters Bank Peg Harvill Gallery.
The open call will give ten regional artists a one month show in 2016. The call is open to both 2D and 3D works. Prospectuses are available on the museum website as well as in the museum lobby.
Past artists have included painters Anne Goetze, Mary Addison Hackett and Ed Nash, photographers Bob Sherman and Greg Sand, and sculptor Mindy Herrin, to name a few. The current year is sponsored by Nashville Arts Magazine, who received over 70 entries from Tennessee artists.
Exhibits Curator, Terri Jordan, says “This region of the country is home to many talented artists and it is great to be able to give them a venue to share their work. Several artists that have come through the Peg Harvill Gallery are already award-winners, with gallery representations. Our museum offers them a chance to expose their art to a wider audience in their own backyard.”
The deadline to apply is September 12. Selected artists will be notified November 1.
Located at the corner of Second and Commerce Streets, the Customs House Museum is the second largest general museum in Tennessee. For more information on above event contact Terri Jordan, Exhibits Curator, at 931-648-5780 or terri@customshousemuseum.org.
