CLARKSVILLE, TN – Southeast Festival and Events Associations announced that Traci Cunningham and Brooke Jung have been elected to the Board of Directors at the SFEA annual conference held in Myrtle Beach, SC on Feb. 22. SFEA will have two Tourism Executive Directors from Christian County representing the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Martin Lane, chairman of the board said, “We’re excited to have better representation in Kentucky and know Traci’s and Brooke’s years of experience and knowledge will ensure our continued growth and success.”
Cunningham has been a member of SFEA since 2013 and said, “I am honored to be elected to represent our great state. I think with the combined effort between myself and Mrs. Jung, we will continue to make Kentucky proud and make sure that it remains visible to our travelers and guests. Tourism makes one of the largest impacts in economic development and I look forward to expanding and growing not only our state, county, and community but the southeast region as a whole with the help of the SFEA.”
Jung said, “I am thrilled to be joining the SFEA board and look forward to growing the membership of communities throughout Kentucky and the southeast region. We have so many incredible festivals to highlight across the commonwealth and SFEA does a tremendous job for providing the resource to help us all flourish!”
The best and brightest were spotlighted at the Southeast Festivals and Events Association’s Kaleidoscope Awards, in Myrtle Beach, SC on Feb. 21. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the SFEA Annual Conference. Top festivals and events throughout the southeast were recognized for their outstanding contribution to the festival and events industry. This year there were 123 entries from 6 states in 23 categories and Oak Grove made that list.
Oak Grove Tourism Executive Director Cunningham said, “I am overly excited to have our festivals recognized again this year. This is the 6th year that we submitted for the SFEA Kaleidoscope Award, and I am proud to say we have continued our winning streak. We brought home three awards, that is pretty good odds. This year we won the Silver for the Best Photo Op at the Butterfly Festival, Bronze for Best Event Photograph at the Christmas in the Grove, and another Bronze for Butterfly Festival in the Category of Best Children’s Event.”
She continued, “Our festivals continue to grow every year and they surpassed my original expectations long ago. I can’t express enough how proud I am of my team, my board and most importantly the Oak Grove Community who continue to support us and help make these festivals such a great success.”
Jamie McCormick, Operations Manager for SFEA said, “The creativity and fresh ideas our awardees brought to their festivals and events, were incredible and inspiring. Congratulations to them all.”
