CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) Our Culver’s Restaurant Athlete of the Week is Clarksville High sophomore basketball player, Devyn Bender.

In CHS’s game against Northeast, Bender scored 21 points and had 7 rebounds to help the Wildcats secure the win.

Bender had just returned to the court after undergoing torn meniscus surgery. CHS Head Coach Ted Young had this to say about his sophomore forward.

“Devyn is great. It’s hard to believe he’s just a sophomore. His development from his freshman year to his sophomore year has been outstanding. Not only is Devyn a great basketball player, but his character in the classroom and his character off the court is exemplary,” Young said.

“And he continues to improve, just with the changes he has shown in one year, if Devyn continues on this path he has the chance to have his college paid for through scholarship programs. Devyn is just one those young kids that the teachers, faculty, and the fans watching the games just appreciate watching them on the floor.”

Congratulations to Devyn Bender, Culvers Restaurant Athlete of the Week.
