CLARKSVILLE, TN – Summer fun for kids, with a superhero theme, is coming to Clarksville this June. Cub Scout Day Camp will be Monday, June 21, through Friday, June 25, at Rotary Park in Clarksville. Camp will begin at 9 a.m. and finish at 4 p.m. on each of the five days. Boys and girls may register to attend.

Also known as Cogioba District Day Camp, the program will offer fun activities, exciting adventures and new friendships. It is for youths who will be in the in first through fifth grades in the fall of 2021. (Those who will be in the first grade in the fall of 2021 must have an adult partner attend with them.)

During this week of adventure, the fun may include archery, arts and crafts, BB gun shooting, field sports, nature appreciation, scout skills, active games and more. All activities will place a special emphasis on safety procedures. Safe fun is the main goal of camp. “Superheroes” will be the theme running throughout the fun.

Program Director Shannon Vail explained, “We’ll play games like Storming the Villain’s Hideout, and we’ll meet some of the community’s everyday heroes.”

Camp Director Shelley Steffensmeier captured the values taught in Scouting when she promised, “We will be looking for the superhero in every child.”

The fee for camp, if paid on or before May 4, is $90 per child. After May 4, the cost will be $110. Campers must register in a Cub Scout group called a pack. To find a Cub Scout pack to join, visit www.beascout.org or contact Cogioba District Executive Brandon Neal at 931-337-8316. (Clarksville area must dial the area code).
