CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Fire Rescue rescued a dog from a storm drain at Valleybrook Park Saturday morning.
At around 10:47 a.m., crews were dispatched to a dog trapped down a storm drain at the park near Crossland Avenue and Second Street, CFR said in a statement.

A white Dachshund named Oskar had chased an opossum down the drain, and the owners couldn’t retrieve the dog, CFR said.
Battalion 1, District 1, Squad 1 and Engine 1 responded and set up command.

Squad 1 set up a tripod and dropped into the drain to retrieve Oskar. “He was reunited with his family,” CFR said. “The opossum got away.”
