NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Nashville Fire Department has responded to reports of a possible fuel spill downtown at Riverfront Park.

WKRN News 2 reports the sheen was first spotted at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday.

Crews at the scene told News 2 a petroleum product is spilling into the Cumberland River and they’re working to determine the source.

The sheen stretches from the Korean Veterans Memorial Bridge to the railroad crossing at Gay Street.

Hazmat crews will determine if booms will need to be put in place.
