CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person who called authorities and falsely reported an emergency.
The caller used a blocked phone number to contact dispatch and gave information that initiated a Clarksville Police Department (CPD) Tactical Unit response at an address on Archwood Dr., according to a news release.
The Tactical Unit is called in when an incident presents significant risk to law enforcement or the public. Officers determined the call was a false report.
Anyone with information about the individual who made the call is asked to contact the Clarksville Police Department at 931-648-0656 or to remain anonymous, call the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline at 931-645-TIPS (8477).
Due to the amount of risk these types of calls cause both law enforcement and the citizens of Clarksville, the Clarksville Police Department will pay up to $500 if the information provided leads to an arrest and conviction of the individual who made the call.
