CPD tactical unit responds to call at Exit 8

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville Police Department’s tactical unit responded to a call Thursday around 2:08 p.m. near the bridge at Exit 8.

CPD Public Information Officer Jim Knoll said the call was related to a suicidal man who was possibly armed.

A vehicle was spotted on the westbound Exit 8 off-ramp which was believed to be the suicidal man. When the tactical team approached the vehicle, they found the man dead inside. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

The off-ramp will be closed through approximately 6 p.m.
