CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville police arrested multiple drivers over the weekend who were charged with driving under the influence (DUI).
A total of 12 people were charged with DUI between February 9-11 during the Clarksville Police Department’s saturation patrols.
Five were charged after traffic crashes, three were charged when a driver was found asleep or passed out at the wheel on the roadway or drive thru, one driver ran over a curb, two were traffic infractions (speeding and failure to obey traffic signal), and in one incident the driver almost hit several cars.
The offenders’ ages ranged between 19 and 45. Crashes occurred in various parts of the city. Three out of 12 refused to provide a blood or breath sample. The breath samples ranged between .10 – .12.
Police said the majority of the DUIs occurred between 12:30 a.m. – 4:30 a.m. Additionally, Tennessee Highway Patrol charged three other people with DUI which brought the total to 15.
