CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A suspect in two separate aggravated robberies has been charged. Clarksville Police received numerous tips identifying the man in photos circulated through media outlets.

On July 28, around 1 a.m, a store in the 2500 block of Wilma Rudolph Boulevard was robbed by a man in a black bandanna. The suspect forced the clerk to give him money from the register before fleeing on foot.

On August 2, around 1 a.m, a man entered a Fair Brook Place hotel wearing a bandanna and  Marilyn Monroe hat demanding money from the clerk in a similar manner. After receiving the money, the suspect took the clerk’s drivers license. The victim took this as a threat, as the suspect now had her address.

Both Robberies were caught on video surveillance. When photos from the footage were released, 11 people contacted police and identified the suspect as Demarion Jaquaz Jones, 29. Along with the tips, Detective Honholt found other corroborating information linking Jones to the robberies.

On August 8, Jones was spotted by patrol officers in the exit 4 area and, after a cat a mouse chase, was taken into custody. He was booked into Montgomery County Jail on $195,000 bond. His charges include two counts of aggravated robbery, coercion of a witness, evading arrest and simple possession
