CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Over 60,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the Clarksville-Montgomery County area, and over 10% of the county has been fully vaccinated as of Monday.

This data is from the Tennessee Department of Health’s vaccination reporting dashboard, but Montgomery County Health Director Joey Smith said this number, and the corresponding percentage of the population that has received a vaccine, is likely much higher.

“In Montgomery County, we have a large population of active duty military and a large population of veterans. Although we don’t know how many veterans received their vaccination from the Tennessee Valley VA or one of our vaccination sites that have federal vaccine, we can add our state data and data that Ft Campbell shared,” Smith said.

COVID-19 vaccinations have also more than doubled since the county expanded eligibility expanded to all residents ages 16 and up on March 24.

Clarksville-Montgomery County has also lost two more lives in the last week to COVID-19, bringing the total to 223 while number of active cases have also once again plateaued around 500.

The 14-day active case counts, according to the Clarksville-Montgomery County COVID-19 Dashboard on April 12, 2021.
