CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett is giving back to the community by helping deliver Meals-on-Wheels to senior citizens.
The organization serves meals to seniors over the age of 60 who are home bound and around 140 meals are served each day in the county solely by volunteers.
Durrett will deliver a meal to a senior in need Monday, March 21 and Thursday, March 24.
He volunteered with the program last year and decided to help out again.
“It’s great. I think it’s something we all ought to do. I’m going to volunteer some more, I want to be a part of this. This is awesome,” Durrett said.
