Contributed commentary by Montgomery County Commissioner Joshua Beal endorsing Tommy Vallejos.
I am proud to support and endorse Tommy Vallejos for state representative in District 67. Tommy is more than qualified for the position and has shown his willingness and ability to represent us in the Tennessee State House. He is a 21-year U.S. Army veteran, he served eight years as Montgomery County commissioner in District 14, and he has been a community advocate and leader for over 20 years working with several community nonprofits and organizations.
As our next state representative, Tommy will improve our infrastructure by widening Interstate 24 from Clarksville to Nashville, by working with the City of Clarksville to finish the Northeast Connector, and by partnering with Montgomery County to complete the last portion of Highway 374 to finally connect Madison Street to Highway 149. He will support public safety and protect law-abiding citizens and our Second Amendment rights by opposing any red-flag laws. He will keep our taxes low and put more money back in our pockets by cutting spending where it should be cut. He will make sure our teachers have everything they need to provide the best education for our children and empower parents to play an active role in their children’s education. I also look forward to working with Tommy to finally see a Juvenile Justice Resource Center in Montgomery County become a reality.
Tommy is the only candidate that has been working hard daily to engage every voter regardless of their political affiliation. He is the only candidate that doesn’t just talk about issues but actually has solutions. Tommy is the only one that has put in the effort to build and maintain relationships at the local, state and federal level to actually make those solutions happen.
