CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Montgomery County government has announced that for November, the County Informal and Formal Commission meetings will be conducted virtually.
The move to electronic meetings is due to the executive order from Governor Bill Lee limiting public gatherings to prevent the further spread of COVID-19, according to a news release.
Meeting electronically and limiting public access to the meeting is necessary to protect the public health, safety, and welfare in light of COVID-19, the news release said.
The informal commission meeting is scheduled on Nov. 2 at 6 p.m., and the formal commission meeting is scheduled on Nov. 9 at 6 p.m.. Both can be viewed as video on the Montgomery County YouTube Channel during the meeting, or at any time after the meeting has taken place.
For residents who wish to address the County Commission about zoning cases on Nov. 2, they may do so via Webex from the first-floor training room of the Montgomery County Historic Courthouse at 1 Millennium Plaza. A member of the staff will be there to guide those who want to talk to the commission through the process.
Space in the training room will be limited and open on a first-come, first-serve basis.
