CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Summer has been super hot in Clarksville, and it’s likely to stay that way for a while. In response, local agencies have teamed up to open a cooling shelter, providing relief to residents for the rest of the summer.
United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region, the City of Clarksville and First Presbyterian Church will open the cooling shelter on Wednesday in the church gymnasium on the second level at 215 Foster St. in downtown Clarksville, according to the United Way.
The cooling shelter will be open during daytime hours every day, Wednesday, June 29, through Monday, Aug. 1. It will be open Monday through Saturday from 1-8 p.m. and on Sundays 1 to 6 p.m.
Showers will also be scheduled once per week.
