CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Friends of Dunbar Cave will hold their annual Cooling at the Cave celebration Saturday, July 27 from 3-5 p.m. at the Dunbar Cave State Natural Area.
The public is invited to enjoy music, games, and refreshments at the mouth of the cave, where cool air flows continuously. Prior to the advent of air conditioning, the locals would gather to enjoy the air, as well as concerts and dances.
The Friends group holds this event to recreate that same atmosphere. Board games will be set up, and visitors are encouraged to bring extra chairs and games.
The Cumberland Wind Jazz Project will perform.
Parking is limited, and overflow parking will be available at Dunbar Cave Baptist Church with a shuttle service between the two locations.
All ages are welcome and admission is free, but donations are encouraged. T-shirts and postcards will be available for purchase.
