CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Two men who have previously been convicted of burglary were arrested again for aggravated burglary Tuesday in Clarksville.
A news release states that police were called to a home on Thistlewood Dr. around 9:30 a.m. for a reported burglary.
A victim said she and another victim saw two male suspects outside their apartment building who kept knocking on their door and walking around the building. The victims did not answer because they did not recognize the men.
The first victim told police she heard noise near the downstairs window and hid while observing a man in a blue jacket entering through the locked back window. The suspect then let the other man in through the front door.
At this time the victims were hiding in a closet but could hear movement and voices in the home. Once it was quiet, police arrived and found the suspects attempting to leave the area.
Deshawn Russell, 26, was taken into custody and Bert Killins, 30, was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit through the woods.
The victims’ television was recovered in the suspects’ vehicle and returned to the owner.
Both suspects were booked into the Montgomery County Jail. Killins’ total bond amount was $75,000. Russell’s total bond amount was $125,000. The men both have extensive criminal histories.
