CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Austin Peay baseball is getting a new clubhouse. The transformation of the former APSU warehouse facility began this month and is currently underway.
The new space will triple the size of the previous clubhouse’s 1,700 square feet to over 5,000 square. It will also feature an updated locker room for the Governors 35 baseball student-athletes.
The additional space will give the Governor coaching staff a larger work area and provide them with a meeting room as well. An auxiliary athletics training room will also be added to give student-athletes a closer work-out option to the field.
Hughes Construction Corp. is overseeing the estimated $721,800 project at 601 College Street, according to a building permit.
Construction for the project is underway in large part due to contributions from Austin Peay donors and alumni. Donations to the project are still being accepted. Those wishing to recognize a teammate or loved one by donating to support a locker in the updated locker room may contact the Assistant Director of Athletics for Development Jordan Harmon, by email at harmonj@apsu.edu or by phone at 931-221-6357.
