CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Arc Tennessee held a Pathways to the Future conference for families of children and young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities Saturday at the William O. Beach Civic Hall in Clarksville.
The Arc Tennessee is a statewide advocacy organization that helps people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Loria Hubbard, Director of Programs talked about the work of the non-profit group.
“Our goal is to help these folks be more engaged and have more active meaningful lives,” Hubbard said. “We do that through different programs that we have funded. We do a lot of different things all across the state.”
Expert guest speakers from The Arc Tennessee, TRIAD, Tennessee Department of Education, Family Voices of Tennessee and others were featured. The focus was on children and those transitioning into adult life with a number of topics covered throughout the conference.
Tennessee State Representative for the 67th District, Jason Hodges, supported the organizations involved with the conference.
