CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Around 100 people came together at the Montgomery County Courthouse Thursday for a prayer rally to try and unite the community and make everyone more aware of violence in Clarksville.
The rally, organized by Montgomery County Commissioner and Pastor Tommy Vallejos, brought local officials and organizations together who encouraged ministers to go out into the community and find those people in need of help.
Fairlen Browning, with the organization, Clarksville Parents of Murdered Children told the crowd to make a difference and help solve the crimes and work to make the Clarksville community a safer place to live.
There were a number of Clarksville City Council members at the rally along with Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett and Sheriff John Fuson. The rally was primarily in response to a rash of shootings which has killed three people.
