CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – You never know whose life you will impact, or who will make an impression on your own. For many shoppers at the Sango Walmart their days were a little brighter after a ‘hello’ from Walmart Greeter Mr. Bob. Many are mourning the loss of this friendly face after Bob Coates passed away Saturday.
Mr. Bob, or ‘Happy Bob’ as some called him, was always there to give a joyful greeting. Many remember him for his big smile, positive attitude, and uplifting spirit. Both co-workers and shoppers alike are reflecting on Bob’s ability to brighten anyone’s day.
He served as the Walmart greeter for several years at the Sango location.
The community has been leaving tributes and messages across social media. The impact of his kind words and sweet nature will hopefully leave a lasting impact. “You never know what you can accomplish just where you’re at,” said one Facebook user, Lynnda Bright-Day. “Bob changed a city with the love and attention he gave all who entered our Walmart.”
Coates passed away Saturday after complications from a car accident. Details on his memorial service have not been released yet.
