FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Soldiers and civilians of the 101st Airborne Division and Fort Campbell are excited to host family members, community members, veterans and distinguished guests on Fort Campbell to celebrate the annual Day of the Eagles (May 24), a day of community events and ceremonies leading into Memorial Day.
Traditionally it is a week of events, but multiple elements of the division are deployed or preparing to deploy, so the focus is on an action-packed day of activities. All events are open to the public.

Timeline of Events for Thursday, May 24:
6:30 a.m.: Division Run, all the soldiers in the division will start the day with a morning run. All families and community members are invited to hear the cadences and cheer on your favorite unit! Family parking will be provided at Fryar Stadium (19th Street and Wickham) along with music from the division band. We recommend arriving early to avoid road closures.
8:30 a.m.: Join veterans and soldiers for breakfast in our dining facilities.
10 a.m.: Open tour of the Sabaulaski Air Assault School – see where soldiers go through 10 days of rigorous training to earn their coveted Air Assault badge! Each Tour will consist of an in-depth briefing on the 10 days of Air Assault School. Upon completion of the briefing, guests will move to the 34-foot rappel tower for a demonstration.
All Day: Brigades will host open houses and static displays for a chance to get to know soldiers and see equipment they use to train and deploy.
All Day: Visit the brand-new Pratt Museum who will be hosting tours with Soldiers in period re-enactment uniforms.
(2 p.m.): Second tour of the Air Assault School
(4:30 p.m.): Join us for an Honor Eagle Ceremony to honor all veterans and former Soldiers of the 101st Airborne as we go into Memorial Day weekend. There will be ceremonial music, short speeches, award presentations and a memorial wreath laying.
Subordinate units to the 101st Airborne Division will also conduct ceremonies and events in the lead-up to Day of the Eagles.

May 23 at 9:30 a.m.: 1st Brigade Combat Team Wreath Laying Ceremony to honor the fallen at the Bastogne Memorial.
May 23 at 11 a.m.: 101st Combat Aviation Brigade colors-casing ceremony in preparation for the unit’s upcoming deployment to Afghanistan this summer.
May 23 at 11 a.m.: 1st Brigade Combat Team Distinguished Members of the Regiment Ceremony to recognize tremendous accomplishments by veterans and friends of the 327th Infantry Regiment.
May 24 at 10 a.m.: Currahee Distinguished Members of the Regiment Ceremony to recognize tremendous accomplishments by veterans and friends of the 506th Infantry Regiment.
