HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – Thanks to assistance from the community, the Hopkinsville Police Department was able to arrest a robbery suspect Friday afternoon.
The robbery was reported around 3:54 p.m. at the Dollar General on North Main St. The suspect fled the scene and police used surveillance video and statements from witnesses to track the man down.
Several citizens called police to say they’d seen the suspect in various locations, and he was eventually spotted by police riding in a taxi on Glass Avenue.
“This is a classic example of community and police working together to solve a crime and it’s one of the things that we pride ourselves on,” said Officer Michael Felts.
William Allen Lindsey was arrested and charged with 1st degree robbery.
