CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Members of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association 18-2 Chapter were at Patriots Park on Fort Campbell Boulevard on Wednesday placing 653 American flags to remember each fallen soldier from Fort Campbell since 9/11.

The association has displayed the flags each year for the past 10 years on Memorial Day, Fourth of July, 9/11 and Veterans Day.

“We do this to pay tribute to those who have come before us and paid the ultimate sacrifice,” said Chapter commander and veteran Kevin Armstrong.

The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association is also moving forward with plans for a memorial wall at Patriot’s Park honoring the fallen from Fort Campbell. The association has received permission from the City of Clarksville for the wall, which will be donated by the association to the city.

Armstrong said the wall will have the names of all the fallen since 9/11. The cost of the memorial wall is estimated to be around $150,000 and the CMVA has begun fundraising efforts pay for the construction. To make a donation visit www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_button_id=T5M6BYF3ASNKQ
