CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Charlie and Katie sit down with Fort Campbell Garrison Commander, Colonel Joe Kuchan, for the latest episode of Clarksville’s Conversation. In the midst of the Week of Eagles celebration, and commemoration of Hamburger Hill, Col. Kuchan reflects on the partnership between the Army installation and the local community.
Kuchan emphasizes the importance of maintaining a strong relationship between Fort Campbell and the surrounding community. Roughly two-thirds of the soldiers live off post, quality of life both on and off-post is something to which Fort Campbell command is committed. Approximately 450 soldiers transition out of Fort Campbell every month. Col. Kuchan shares his thoughts on how Clarksville-Montgomery County can help keep these soldiers and their families thrive in the community.
As the Garrison Commander, Col. Kuchan acts as a military equivalent to a ‘City Manager’, implementing the strategic vision of Major General Winski. Everything from public works to quality of life projects fall at the direction of Col. Kuchan and the 2,500 plus civilians working under his command.
Kuchan continues the conversation sharing the exciting activities planned for Week of the Eagles 2019.
